速冻冷库主要用于食物、药品、药材、化工原料等物品的低温冷冻。速冻冷库又分为库房式和隧道式，库房式的适合较大的物料进行速冻，如整羊和二分猪胴体的速冻库等；隧道式速冻库又叫速冻隧道，用于小件食物疾速冻住，如速冻水饺和速冻鱼虾等。
