然后，打开泵吸水管的放气阀，将吸水管和泵体内灌满水或盐水；开动电机时，应注意电流表的负荷，不能超过正常工作数值。

运转中，应发出较沉稳的声音、无杂音，轴承温度不能超过70℃，电流表或压力表指针应稳定，排水管上压力表读数应与工作过程相对应，密封器和法兰处不应有漏水现象。

停泵时应先切断电机电源再关闭排水阀，待电机停止运转后，关闭吸水阀，然后将运转情况作出纪录。冬季气温较低，应将管和泵体内的水放掉。
